ROLE TITLE: HEAD OF MARKETING & PR

REPORTING TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

BASED IN: HEAD OFFICE

WORKING PATTERN: MON-FRI

THE ROLE: 

The Head of Marketing will be an experienced leader who brings a track record of success growing dynamic lifestyle and/or luxury brands and successful omnichannel businesses. This role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our global marketing and PR strategy to serve our business objectives and Company mission. The Head of Marketing will implement effective strategies for market and/or category expansion, and brand positioning. This role will develop and execute best-in-class campaigns to drive brand awareness and support sales growth.

The role requires a strong social and environmentally aware mindset with a constant desire to improve the management of their division in ways that align with the company's goal to become regenerative.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

STRATEGY

  • Set global Marketing and PR strategy and vision for the short, medium and long-term future to meet exceptional growth targets (1-5 year horizon)
  • Create a clear vision and pathway for the Marketing department to transition from small to large company – including commercial growth, capability development, team structure evolution and infrastructure development
  • Create top down strategies and foster bottom-up ideas and initiatives to drive growth and develop a business plan to deliver annual KPIs and company mission
  • Responsible for the Marketing and PR P&L – held accountable for delivering top and bottom line commercial results. Work with SLT to re-forecast as needed.
  • Harness all relevant facets of the Marketing mix to ensure a cohesive, efficient and effective communication strategy across digital, CRM, partnerships, collaborations, PR, influencers and social media.
  • Work with Omnichannel Commercial Director to evaluate, enhance and approve Brand campaigns from the respective teams.
  • Use data-backed judgement about the right investment allocation decisions and opportunity costs to ensure optimum return.
  • Ensure consistent brand and comms strategy and vision is seamlessly executed across all regions globally in line with our Brand positioning & mission.

     

 

EXECUTION

  • Drive excellence in execution across all facets of the marketing mix including social media, influencers, content, paid media, comms, owned platforms & other areas we evolve.
  • Ensure all plans operate within agreed budget parameters, driving efficiency to ensure the most effective use of resources.
  • Set clear Brand standards, guidelines and KPIs in line with Brand positioning, mission and vision.
  • Ensure effective measurement systems, trackers and reporting structures are in place to test and learn, evaluate success and optimise outcomes on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as appropriate.
  • Manage global media relations through collaboration with PR firms and journalists to enhance Brand presence globally.
  • Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features), share updates via regular formal/informal competitor reports to drive competitive differentiation.

     

LEADERSHIP

  • Manage, motivate and nurture the marketing team, spanning the functional areas of brand marketing, social media, copy, and press.
  • Provide inspiring leadership to the marketing team to create an environment that promotes great performance, new learnings and positive morale
  • Oversee the timely execution of daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal reports
  • Set dept and team goals to ensure efficient running of department, with clear focus on priorities to deliver overarching company targets and goals
  • Communicate with clarity and influence and manage key stakeholders on strategic vision and department priorities
  • Effectively work cross department ensuring buy in from all key dept stakeholders for project delivery.

     

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Extensive marketing and comms experience, preferably for a luxury brand
  • Expertise across core marketing functions, including paid media, brand marketing, cross-channel communications and PR
  • Ability to build bottom up ROI plans to effectively evaluate project viabilities and priorities.
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights to address barriers to purchase
  • Appreciation and understanding of experiential and community marketing tactics
  • Able to clearly set business objectives, priorities and measure successes based on KPIs (both quantitative and qualitative metrics)
  • Experience of implementing Marketing plans and initiatives on an international level (experience in the US preferable)
  • Experience in driving cross-functional collaboration and improving ways of working.
  • Experience of overseeing online and offline marketing channels – SEM/SEO, programmatic, affiliates, print, OOH, direct mail etc.
  • Strong business judgement and decision making skills; ability to identify, prioritise, and articulate highest impact initiatives
