The opportunity has arisen to lead our successful, enthusiastic and talented maths department.
Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

For a September 2024 start, we are looking for an outstanding practitioner with a highly successful track record of raising achievement in maths. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inspirational, forward thinking with strong leadership qualities and the ability to lead a thriving department. You will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further the standards of teaching and learning.
The maths department is a thriving part of our school, and is popular at GCSE and A level. The curriculum is rich and challenging and focuses on building students’ enjoyment and interest along with the knowledge and skills required for examination success.
We wish to appoint a colleague to this post who has:
A strong background in maths, including experience of teaching to A level
A passion for teaching, and a track record as a highly effective classroom practitioner
The ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues to achieve their best
Highly effective interpersonal, communication, management and leadership skills
A commitment to professional development
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
