Cliff Park Ormiston Academy is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Modern Languages (French & Mandarin) to join our team and lead the development of our MFL curriculum.
As the Head of Modern Languages, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the MFL team of teachers and support staff
- Delivering high-quality French lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Developing and implementing effective strategies to raise standards and achievement in MFL
- Promoting the learning and teaching of Mandarin as a new language offer at the school
- Collaborating with other curriculum leaders and senior leaders to ensure coherence and consistency across the school
- Engaging with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the MFL provision and opportunities for our students
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree in MFL or related subject
- Evidence of successful leadership and management experience in MFL
- Excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical skills in French
- A passion for languages and a commitment to inspire and motivate students and staff
- A clear vision and strategic direction for the MFL department
- A willingness to contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
