Head of Payroll required to join an NHS organisation on a full time temporary basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Head of Payroll to join their dynamic and fast moving finance function.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Payroll

• Onboarding client payrolls and developing associated service specifications/contract management.
• Provide effective leadership to an informed and engaged Pay function, who design, develop
• and deliver innovative and best practice services.
• Fully embed performance and insight data within every level of Payroll operations to drive
• performance, plan resources and underpin future service planning/strategy.
• Embed effective service governance, ensuring that appropriate policies and controls are in
• place to balance risk, ensure compliance and facilitate effective decision making.
• Develop and deliver a clear workforce plan, focusing on team culture, skill development,
• behaviours and succession planning.

Required skills and experience of the Head of Payroll

• Previous NHS experience
• CIPP Qualified in Payroll Management or equivalent
• NHS Pensions knowledge
• Hands on experience running a payroll function
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• High level of organisational skills
• High level of analytical skills
