The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Strategic HR leader to join our People & Culture team at Imperial Brands. As the Head of People & Culture you will be an influential and pivotal member of the Functional Leadership Team, responsible for the delivery of strategic goals and execution of the P&C Strategy. You will provide strategic Business Partnering support to our Marketing & Portfolio Management, Global Insights & Revenue Growth Management Leadership Teams, and will help to define, develop and execute the People and Culture agenda and plan. You will play a key role in the delivery of the wider People & Culture agenda supporting the People and Culture Director, Global Functions.

You will act as an internal consultant and use business knowledge and understanding of similar business sectors, to enable you to provide expert advice and challenge in order to align the needs of the business and the delivery of the functions people priorities and plan.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Owns the People Strategy for the functions and has oversight at a function level of all strategic P&C activity.
  • Builds strong working relationships and ensures business needs and requirements are understood and supported, and translates these into the People Plan/Strategy for the functions.
  • Is a key part of the leadership team for the Marketing & Portfolio Management (MPM), Global Insights & Revenue Growth Management (RGM) functions, and supports Senior Leaders to develop their leadership team capability, performance management, effective ways of working as a leadership team and ensure alignment with the Imperial Brands purpose, vision and behaviours.
  • Coaches and influences Senior Leaders, supporting them to unlock potential and drive performance and engagement, creating a positive working environment.
  • Collaborates across the Global Matrix P&C teams, leveraging and promoting ways of working to drive consistent delivery of our global People Priorities and our Employee Value Proposition.
  • Leading and implementing projects e.g. Organizational Change and Effectiveness, DEI and Employer Branding in conjunction with business leads, and key P&C CoE Stakeholders.
  • Develop Annual Strategic Workforce Plan in conjunction with local business plans, specifying resourcing and capability requirements and developing and implementing a plan in conjunction with talent acquisition and development to realise the delivery of requirements.

Skills and Experience Required

  • An experienced Senior BP/Head Of/Director HR Professional, within a large complex matrix organisation.
  • Experience of being part of and influencing senior leadership teams along with a proven track record of creating and delivering people strategies from business plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, quickly building rapport and trust with stakeholders of all levels across P&C and within functions/clusters.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into people strategy along with excellent influencing skills to enable you to deliver through others to support the implementation of People strategy.
  • Strategic commercial understanding, along with strong leadership, communication and change management skills with experience in strategic workforce planning.
  • The ability to coach and influence senior managers to enable a high performance culture.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data for insight and storytelling to inform data led decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), fluency in English, as well as strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
