Head of People Services
Location: Glasgow – hybrid working
Salary: £54-68K (up to 20% Performance Bonus + Healthcare + Car allowance)
12 Month Fixed-term contract

The Head of People Services is responsible for leading a centralised operational team responsible for the transactional support of People products and services within the People Operations function including People lifecycle processes; recruitment, training, compliance and policy support, the Payroll service for circa 6.5k people and the immigration and mobility requirements.
In this role, you’ll drive operational delivery and targets, using data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll work across the People function to ensure delivery of core services alongside project work, ensuring the team is supported to deliver in a period of recent significant technology change.
Part of your role will be to drive the continued adoption of the newly implemented Workday system, working alongside the Head of People Transformation, building on further transformational activities that directly support, or change, the operational landscape
What you’ll be doing
Working across a broad range of operational processes you'll enable optimum support to the business, ensuring all compliance, audit, and reporting is delivered. You’ll lead the People Service team to deliver core services, utilising intelligence data, to ensure that the services are delivered effectively.
You’ll look to optimise the customer journey and ensure our operational processes are carried out as efficiently as possible, developing practical solutions, and enabling teams to deliver and add value. You’ll provide direction and support on escalated matters both for customer inquiries and across the People Function.
Working with stakeholders, process, and policy owners, you’ll support them to deliver on BAU and project accountabilities, considering requirements related to GDPR and the use of customer data remain compliant.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience leading a multi-faceted operational people functional team including the delivery of operational HR policies, payroll and immigration
  • Knowledge of HR processes, systems, and technology (including payroll)
  • Broad knowledge of HR policies, best practices and underpinning employment law principles
  • A Data-driven mindset
  • A continuous improvement and agile mindset and the ability to engage people and bring them on a journey.
  • Experience of optimising processes, ways of working and improving service level agreements.
