Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a robust planning strategy aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to define long-term production capacity, resource allocation, and investment plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align planning processes with overall company objectives.
- Demand Forecasting and Inventory Management:
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer orders to forecast demand accurately.
- Develop production plans that align with customer requirements and production capacity.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to understand customer requirements.
- Develop inventory management strategies to optimise stock levels.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to balance production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Implement inventory tracking systems and cycle counting procedures.
- Develop inventory policies, safety stock levels, and replenishment strategies.
- Lead the Planning and scheduling process, considering lead times, production capacities, and resource availability.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Build & Test teams to ensure accurate and smooth operations.
- Monitor progress of Planning process, address bottlenecks, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Build & Test logistics, and maintenance teams.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align planning efforts.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address supply disruptions and bottlenecks.
- Establish contingency measures to handle disruptions.
- Lead and motivate planning teams, across the organisation.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Create a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
- Generate reports on supply planning metrics, stock availability, and order fulfilment.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning.
- Monitor KPIs, analyse performance data, and provide regular reports to senior leadership team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, operations management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain planning, preferably in the manufacturing sector, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
