Salary*OUTSIDE IR35 - Our client is a Health Regulatory Body sponsored by the Department of Health & Social Care. We are looking for Head of PMO / Portfolio Director with a public sector background with an established track record of pulling together portfolios and build a portfolio and framework structure.
The role requires an immediate and proven PMO Lead to come in and manage the entire Portfolio and keep it on track. You will introduce work practices and monitor current projects (approx 6) which will help clear the backlog of work and to help alleviate the pressures on the Programme Director.
Currently the programme is disorganised and this needs to be resolved under a clear portfolio structure, including identifying clear workstreams and setting up and running a programme board.
Key Skills / Requirements of the candidate:
- Design implementation plan, demonstrating how to improve the services.
- Place structure and rigor around the programme.
- Can Collate moving parts from various projects.
- Communication / reporting
- Reporting out from the programme
- To include how all the projects are progressing.
- Review projects POAP (ensuring they are easy to understand)
- Understand the audience so that communications are both technical and non-technical as appropriate.
- Clear / easy to read reporting templates.
- Weekly reporting on KPI's
- Understands how DHSC works.
- Be able to work with board and challenging SMT
- Provide advice on the optimisation of the projects in terms of resourcing.
- Provide advice on framework report structures.
- Be confident to be able to be challenge in a constructive manner
