This innovative industry leading SME manufactures ultra-precision CNC polishing equipment, that is now used by many of the world's leading technology companies. Due to increased demand they are looking to recruit a permanent Head of Process who will report directly to the Managing Director. It is highly likely you will be working within a precision CNC machining environment, Optical Devices, Lasers, Additive 3D printing or Metrology with a sound understanding of Ra & Rz surface roughness values and finished form tolerances at nano-meter levels.

As the new Head of Process you will lead a team of Process Engineers who develop CNC machine polishing processes and applications for a range of engineered surfaces, including high precision mirrors, lenses, moulds, dies, valves, turbine blades, medical implants and other mechanical components that range in size from 2mm to 1.5m.

If you were already in this Head of Process role, your current duties would include:

• Managing the development of customer-specific applications and internal polishing processes procedures and projects
• Managing the acceptance polishing tests of new machines to ensure smooth customer buy-off and acceptance
• Constantly looking to improve and develop new innovative polishing processes
• Ensuring regular communication between the team, customers and senior management, applying rigorous standards to process reports and papers
• Delivering high-quality technical documentation.

To apply, you will need senior level process or applications experience gained within manufacturing, ideally a technical engineering/scientific/research or high-value capital equipment environment.

You will also require the following:

• Experience supporting process and continuous improvement projects
• Excellent understanding of lean methodology, techniques and implementation
• Project or change management experience
• Excellent management skills, with the ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team to maintain our world-class expertise
• Experience in optical production techniques and optical drawing standards would be a distinct advantage.
