With an annual external supplier spend of approximately £600m this is your chance to join the team at an exciting time in the public procurement landscape, as Kirklees Council begins to prepare for the new procurement regulations, continues its procurement improvement journey and delivers against the Councils procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies to optimise service delivery and provide value for money.
- Responsible for the procurement service (20 procurement professionals), inspiring and empowering the team to achieve excellence.
- Oversee all aspects of Procurement and category management, delivering measurable procurement efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with public procurement legislation, providing assurance to senior stakeholders.
