Job description

Head Of Product and Development

Main purpose of role:

  • Accountable for designing and executing the overall product strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensure that the companies product portfolio matches customer needs and differentiates from competitors.
  • Build team to effectively deliver products, whilst always fostering a progressive customer centric culture
  • Advocate agile cross functional working and ensure stakeholders buy into and facilitate their own contribution to building, implementing & executing the product plans for successful delivery.
  • Own development and product go-to-market roadmaps and governance processes, including development budget spanning all product development projects and programmes.
  • Lead development lifecycle and benefit realization, balancing budget and resources to ensure roadmap remains market relevant.
  • Ideation management, feasibility and investment planning
  • Commercialization of new product development

Key responsibilities

Product Strategy

Lead effective product management and governance delivering against growth, cost, compliance, efficiency and market competitiveness

  • Develop, articulate and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap that aligns with the business goals and objectives.
  • Work with cross functional teams to deliver product innovation on design and commercial modelling to forecast and deliver new market share/ revenue projections.
  • Identify and manage dependencies throughout product lifecycle via effective planning, tracking and reporting to deliver targets.
  • Establish Product & Solution Design Authority (PDSG) where product innovation can be identified through customer needs and market insights and enabled through business into executional products to market.
  • Work closely with the engineering team around product MVP, changes, releases and enhancements, to scope, timescales, costs and quality.
  • Identify delivery and GTM channel partners in line with brand and marketing aspirations for market positioning and growth

Proposition Development

Drive innovation through insights to evolve existing products to achieve market differentiation through NPD and refresh

  • Develop go to market strategy and launch plans at the product level.
  • Build product proposition, customer journeys and commercial ROI.
  • Ensure ROI for GTM distribution strategy.
  • Accountable for OKR's, metrics & tracking of launch initiatives and stakeholder reporting
  • Anticipate market changes, adapting and adjusting product strategy as required, keep a pulse on industry disruptors, entrants, and be on top of key trends, influencers.
  • Create internal customer innovation lab to showcase product innovation

Product Ownership

Implement and oversee core processes and performance of Products including vendor relationships

  • Provide technical design of Products to the customer across the portfolio, defining inhouse and outsourced capabilities.
  • Translate customer needs into Product and user requirements
  • Drive end-to-end product strategy and requirements, prioritize complex deliverables and lead product projects with cross-functional and external teams
  • Manage product lifecycle (definition, project management, implementation, testing, launch)
  • Manage supplier selection and relationships within the product suite
  • Champion the operational activities necessary to solve problems including development of systems, data, and processes
  • Manage proof-of-concept process, validation and competitive analysis

Customer focus

  • Develop opportunities with existing and new business customers and ensure the business is always considered 'partner of choice' for digital infrastructure solutions
  • Self-initiate expert insight into current and future competitor products, user research, voice of the customer and analysis of existing performance data.
  • Explore outside and overseas product markets to bring external thinking into strategy and deployment
  • Act as champion and advocate for new product innovation internally and externally

Team Management and Senior Leadership

  • Lead, develop and grow product management capability and team, attracting high quality talent and retention.
  • Work across business to ensure that the team is recognized and valued to fulfil their potential of contributing to the business strategy. Develop trust and credibility across the business by building effective relationships with multiple teams and stakeholders across all levels.

Experience Required

  • Understanding of mobile and telecoms industry with specific experience in marketing, sales, operations and technical product development
  • DAS/Small Cell expertise and ability to develop technical solutions
  • Led Technical Product Design Authority
  • Can operate and feels comfortable performing across all levels of the business across strategy, management and being the doer
  • Demonstrable experience of a highly collaborative approach for win-win solutions internally and externally
  • Significant Product management and Development experience, preferably in high value B2B technology, mobile and telecoms environments
  • Strong track record of delivering product innovation to enhance an organization's commercial position
  • Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization
  • Ability to leverage information to create tailored customer products
  • Good influencer both strategically and tactically, non-hierarchical, subject expert and passionate about product innovation
  • Strong experience of effective Stakeholder Management - customers, shareholder

Skills

  • Creative problem solver with the ability to prioritize initiatives and anticipate business needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to manage stakeholders of varying levels and across matrix organizations.
  • Track-record building and advocating new business cases
  • Proven, demonstrated experience in successfully leading efforts related to new product launches, campaign development and successful product launch with market adoption
  • Clear & concise communication skills at all levels within Cornerstone, market and customers
  • Strong planning & organizational ability in delivering product outcomes and business results.
  • Effective channel strategy development and delivery, including leveraging a wide variety of stakeholders to influence and progress desired product outcomes.
  • Present products at industry events as well as customer meetings and workshops
