Job Description
We're looking for a Head of Product Management to join us in London or Hove!
You'll play a key role to strategically plan, develop, and manage the infrastructure services product portfolio within the Infrastructure & Operations function; ensuring that all infrastructure products are well defined, deliver value to our customers and that we proactively manage the backlog of features & enhancements.
In addition to this, you will lead a team of Product Owners, who will develop visions and sustainable individual product strategies to build on the success in close co-operation with all existing teams within L&G business units.
What you'll be doing
  • Collaborating across peer groups to define and clearly communicate the product vision and strategy - setting goals and objectives, and guiding the product team in achieving these goals, ensuring these align with the wider business strategic objectives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with our key internal stakeholders and customers - fostering a relationship of Product/service excellence and obtaining feedback to identify areas where improvements can be made to existing products or new products that are required
  • Ensuring the Product team have technical roadmaps that are clearly defined, published, and are communicated proactively, and collaborating with our customers about the product roadmaps so customers and consumers are aware of targeted outcomes driving the product vision
  • Developing and enhancing the talent profile for Product Management - ensuring appropriate resourcing plans so that relevant organisational and people capability/succession plans are in place and managed efficiently
  • Developing a strong community for Product Owners across the L&G Group to collaborate and develop best practice by establishing forums for insight and experience to be shared, to leverage learnings across all our products
  • Undertaking regular value for money assessments on all products / propositions in line with group and divisional standards and escalating any fair value concerns to senior management to enable appropriate action to be taken
Qualifications
What we're looking for
  • You'll have a background as a Product Owner, preferably in a leadership position
  • You'll also have experience of implementing infrastructure products, ideally within a regulated organisation
  • Experience of mentoring and developing teams to adopt Agile methods for delivering infrastructure products is key
  • An in-depth understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies, tools, technical understanding of Products and their lifecycles, and up-to-date knowledge on industry standards and best practices
  • Any experience of managing 3rd parties for IT engineering and support capabilities would be great
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle approaches and concepts of continuous integration, continuous delivery, deployment, as well as test-based development
