Salary: £85,048 (£94,001 is achieved after 12 months successful performance in the role)
Working Hours: ?35 hours 
Working Pattern:?Monday - Friday

The difference you will make as a Head of Programmes:
This is an exciting, highly visible role to lead our Business Transformation Programme function and oversee the delivery of projects across our portfolio that have been approved and planned by our Executive Team, in line with the corporate strategy. 
Reporting to the Group Business Transformation Director, as part of the CIO directorate, the role holder will play an integral role in coordinating the delivery of an expansive portfolio of initiatives, which covers every aspect of our service offer. Our transformation agenda covers broad and complex system integration projects, as well as initiatives that help to modernise Riverside and deliver value to our customers and colleagues. 
As Head of Programmes, it is vital the role holder can demonstrate expert knowledge and practical experience of coordinating a portfolio and variety of Programmes, with projects that cater for different project methodologies – including Waterfall, Agile and Lean. 
A key part of this role is to work closely and effectively with other BT Leaders, specifically PMO, to coordinate the delivery of projects, in conjunction with our standard governance and assurance procedures. Balancing resource requirements for each project, overseeing project finances, managing common risks across the portfolio and feeding them into PMO for monitoring, assurance and reporting will require meticulous management. 
The Head of Programmes will be expected to provide strong leadership to promote best practices in coordinating interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery across CIO and the wider business. Coupled with a deep knowledge of portfolio/programme/project management and delivery, as well as excellent organisational skills, this delivery-focused role is fundamental to the success of our transformation agenda. 
Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience are essential for this role, as you will be required to work with our single governance model and support our wider BT team and CIO directorate manage expectations in a controlled and assured manner. 
The role will have up to 5 direct reports, and an overall team consisting of 18 colleagues.
About You
You will have strong strategic leadership and communication skills with the ability to challenge in a collaborative manner. Experience in portfolio management, with strong financial acumen with a minimum 5 years’ experience in project organisations, ideally in agile/hybrid delivery environments

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of TRG transformation portfolio roadmap, budgeting and forecasting, reporting, definition and prioritisation 
  • In conjunction with Group Business Transformation Director, developing and maintaining the overall roadmap to ensure a co-ordinated approach to delivering and rolling out change.
