Job description

CMC Markets are hiring a for a Head of Prudential Regulation Reporting to manage the Group’s prudential obligations for the CMC Markets Investments group and its UK regulated entities. Alongside the development of Prudential documentation, the Head of Prudential Regulation will ensure the ongoing timely and accurate reporting of all regulatory returns for the consolidated Group, as well as the UK, German and Dubai subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Curate and manage the development of the Group’s ICARA review process.
  • Oversight of the Group’s consolidated and regulated entities’ prudential regulatory submissions including relevant IFPR returns.
  • Oversight of the German and Dubai subsidiaries’ prudential regulatory submissions produced in accordance with the IFR and DFSA rules respectively.
  • Curate and manage the development of the Dubai ICAAP and IRAP documents and assistance in the German ICAAP process.
  • Responsibility for the Group’s wind-down plans and the associated processes.
  • Co-ordination of any remedial work resulting from prudential reviews (internal/external audit and FCASREPs).
  • Responsibility for the production of the Group’s disclosure documents (in accordance with the IFPR and IFR).
  • Regulatory horizon scanning and reporting and implementation of applicable prudential regulatory changes.
  • Produce board level management information and strategic papers on the prudential risks pertinent within the investment firm space.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Group has the correct waivers/ permissions in place.
  • Assist in the preparation of relevant sections of the Group’s Financial Statements.
  • Enhancing the current prudential reporting processes to increase the efficiency and transparency of the returns.
  • Development of a broad understanding of regulatory requirements in a number of overseas jurisdictions to (i) assist in review of Group returns, and (ii) understand key drivers of solvency in those entities so that they can liaise with both the CFO and Group CRO to ensure the most efficient use of group funds / capital.
  • Participation in any relevant ad-hoc project work or reporting requirements.
  • Manage ad-hoc prudential requests from NCAs.
  • Understand all existing and new products offered by CMC Markets, with particular reference to how they are captured and reported within the Prudential framework.
  • Working with the CFO and Group CRO to ensure regulatory reporting is in line with regulatory requirements and reflects changes to the business; and ensure UK prudential policies and procedures are commensurate to the Group’s operations and obligations.

Other general duties will include:

  • Point of contact for query handling and project work with other departments, notably Finance, Operations, Internal / External Audit, IT, Tax and Risk.
  • Identification and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Review processes and procedures. Implement any changes necessary to improve efficiencies and controls.
  • Escalation of issues to Senior Management when necessary.
  • UAT for new processes/programs.
  • Assisting/supervising project work.

?Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience within financial services
  • Extensive practical experience and knowledge of FCA Prudential reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of IFPR/IFR across both the trading and non-trading book
