What will this role achieve?
An opportunity has arisen to join anchor regional UK&I as Head of Quality + Food Safety. This pivotal role has a brad scope of responsibilities and stakeholders, covering the following areas;
  • Custodian of the UK&I QFS business standards, ensuring via horizon scanning that we maintain fit for future processes and controls
  • Owner of the QFS Internal Audit programme, providing specialist verification of the effective operation of our pladis manufacturing and storage estate.
  • Management of the system, data and reporting requirements of SQSE as a whole, governing the business software, its outputs and optimising the data use to best inform business decision making
  • Owner of the Supplier Quality Assurance Programme for circa 600 direct, indirect and key service suppliers used across UK, NL and France.
Responsible for a team of 7 specialist, technologists and Auditors, this people-centric role requires high level of organisation and communication. Key Stakeholders include Procurement, R+D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Global and Regional QSF teams, and external networks. Working within the SQSE Leadership Team you will co-create, pla and deliver the QFS strategic direction of the business.
This exciting role has only become available 3 times in the last 20 years. It offers significant development potential for the individual with the chance to contribute across multiple business platforms and make a real and sustainable difference.
What will be your key deliverables?
  • Defines UK&I business quality and Food Safety best practice
  • Drives compliance, standardisation, consistency and alignment across all sites
  • Ensures teams have robust actions plans in place that are well implemented by working with leadership teams to challenge, review and risk assess the plans and ways of working
  • Identify, develop and implement continuous improvements in performance. Set the measurements of continuous performance through determining Key Performance Indicators (e.g. complaints, audit performance, Vendor Non Conformance’s)
  • Support the development of the Group Q&FS strategies and implement these in Cluster. · Maintains an awareness of industry developments in Q&FS and integrates into company processes where relevant
  • Provides consultancy and guidance in investigations, incidents and crises as appropriate.
  • Consults sites in preparation for external audits and prioritises appropriate central resource where necessary
  • Delivers specific Q&FS projects
  • Drives sites to adopt best practices and standard ways of working for the business
  • Manages the 3rd party audit provider and scheduling for the cluster. Cost centre & budget responsibility
  • Coaches and advises sites in the implementation of robust Q&FS initiatives
  • Ensures training meets the requirements of the Q&FS plan.
Bring your experience
Essential
  • Expert knowledge of Quality & Food Safety legislation, regulations, standards and practices
  • Proven track record in a cross regional Quality and Food Safety management role
  • Clean driving license
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
Desirable
Degree in Science or Food related subject
