The Head of Retail role is responsible for the P&L of the retail division. Here you will be collaborating with stakeholders to source and range the best products and implement compelling pricing and promotional strategies across all retail formats, including Supermarkets, Gift shops, Vending, and Bingo.

This is a Hybrid role based at our Head Office in Hemel Hempstead (HP2 4YL), with 50% of your time spent in office or visiting parks.

Key Responsibilities of this Head of Retail role:
- To support the Operations Director by developing retail growth strategies and action plans aligned to the wider company strategy.
- Ensure sales, margin and profit performance is tracked against budget across Food and General Merchandise categories with a turnover of circa £60 million.
- Develop and deliver a compelling retail proposition across a variety of categories and retail formats.
- Work closely with store teams to ensure consistently high operational standards are maintained across the estate.
- Manage SOPs across the retail function.
- Lead the NPD, sourcing, intellectual property and critical path for their bespoke General Merchandise, Toys and Gifting range.
- Working closely with their supplier base and oversee any negotiations or contract renewals.
- Lead a team of Category Managers to track and measure commercial performance across all categories.
- Lead category reviews to improve product range, sales, quality, pricing and promotional activity.
- Provide a clear framework for food safety, working with the H&S Team to ensure compliance.
- Support the People Team with park succession plans and talent identification.

Essential Skills required for this Head of Retail role:
- You must be operating as a Head of, Lead or Senior Manager in a similar retail, hospitality, entertainment or leisure business.
- You must have P&L management & accountability in a similar size or larger business.
- Highly experienced within Buying, Sourcing or Category management.
- Extensive product knowledge across various categories within Gifting and General Merchandise.
- Knowledge or experience of new product development and sourcing
- Have led managers as part of your team.
- Experience with food would be desirable or have experience of working with a wholesale model.
- Bricks-and-mortar retail experience
- Extensive experience of commercial analysis, range creation and maintenance and stock management.
- Understanding of economic and legislative factors influencing retail.
- Confident and clear communicator with a collaborative approach (used to stakeholder relationships with SLT or Board level).
- You must be able to drive and hold a UK driving License.
