About the team:

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

·         Oversight of RMF Operation including:

·         Policy and Procedure – monitor and report on adherence to Group standards across the Risk taxonomy and RMF. 

·         Appetite – Lead and co-ordinate the annual appetite update at year-end in line with the FRP process, for recommendation at BRC.  Lead and co-ordinate the mid-year refresh process. 

·         RCAs – Oversight of the 1LoD RCA process across the risk types.  Drawing in SMEs from across 2LoD to review and challenge RCAs generated by 1LoD.   

·         Controls - Oversight of the 1LoD control universe for completeness, accuracy, ownership, testing plans etc.

·         Issues Management – Lead and co-ordinate 2LoD oversight of E2E Issues Management at a macro level.  Involvement in individual issues usually led by 2LoD SMEs.  

·         Risk Events - Lead and co-ordinate 2LoD oversight of E2E Risk Events at a macro level.  Involvement in individual risk events usually led by 2LoD SMEs.  

·         Be the conduit into HINV for Group changes to the RMF and identify impacts for HINV, handing off to the relevant Risk Steward or 1LoD personnel as appropriate.

·         Oversight of the delivery of RMF changes/updates into HINV. 

·         Be the default delivery owner of pan-Risk change eg BCBS239 as it impacts Risk.  

·         Risk Reporting – Produce Risk Reporting for UKRC, BRC and other Risk Committees/fora.

·         Assurance – develop an annual plan for assurance reviews and deliver them through the year.  Reviews to cover both profile and framework matters.  Work with 2LoD Risk SMEs to deliver risk profile-based reviews.  Analyse trends in results and share at UKRC.  Develop assurance products and delivery to generate maximum value-add for HINV. 

·         Co-ordinate 2LoD input to FRP.

·         Governance Secretariat – Deliver governance services to agreed Risk Committees including UK Risk Committee.

·         Co-ordinate and oversee BRC papers from 1LoD and 2LoD.

·         Track BRC and UKRC actions. 

·         Be the key 2LoD interface to the 1LoD Central Controls Team and HINV IA.

·         The role has no specific L1 – L3 Risk oversight responsibilities.

To be successful in your application for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

·         Deep knowledge of RMF implementation and operation in a Financial Services organisation, preferably a bank.

·         Experience of risk oversight as well as risk framework.

·         Experience of delivering excellent quality risk reporting across all risk-types.

·         Experience of working in a smaller organisation where pragmatic and nimble implementation of an RMF is required.

·   Self-starting individual who shows initiative and can instinctively discern the key elements of a pragmatic RMF implementation for HINV.

·         Role Model Leadership skills.

·         Demonstrate drive and ingenuity.

·         Very strong written and verbal communication skills from Board-level down.

·         Very strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.

·         Experience inside and outside HSBC

·         Someone with a track record of engaging the 1LoD community on RMF.

·         The ability to make a big difference to the business and be recognised as the RMF thought leader in the business.

·         Interest in the HINV business and client ecosystem.
