Job description

Join us in realising our vision for our Borough: "No-one Left Behind." With a focus on creating opportunities for our residents to thrive, especially our children and young people, we're committed to providing access to top-notch education. As the Head of School Performance & Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the futures of our children, building on our strong partnerships with our family of 60 schools.

About the Role

Your leadership in driving strategies for school improvement, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and Inclusion will support all schools in our Borough to provide outstanding inclusive education. Leveraging our collaborative partnerships, you'll maximise school-to-school support and foster collaborative working. As the Lead Commissioner for BDSIP, our school-owned, school-led improvement service, you'll oversee effective commissioning, contract management, and quality assurance. Where necessary, you'll step in to challenge and support schools to drive improvement, ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive through education.

This position can be offered as a 0.8 post, subject to negotiation. Candidates interested in this option should contact Bei.Braithwaite-Cotton@lbbd.gov.uk to arrange for further discussion before applying.

About You

This is a key leadership role in an authority known for its long-term and sustained improvement, rooted in successful collaboration across the education system. Your ability to build trusted relationships quickly, backed by professional credibility and personal integrity, will be vital. We're looking for a Qualified Teacher with senior leadership experience in a Local Authority, School, or Trust. While experience as a headteacher is desirable, it's not essential. Significant experience in the secondary phase is needed to balance the expertise within the team.

We strive for our senior team to mirror the diversity of our communities. We particularly encourage applicants from Black, Asian and Multi Ethnic backgrounds and those who identify as disabled.

For a confidential conversation about this exciting opportunity, please contact Jane.Hargreaves@lbbd.gov.uk or Jill.Baker@lbbd.gov.uk

Let's work together to ensure that no-one is left behind in our Borough.

Closing date: Sunday 17th March 2024.
