Pure Permanent Recruitment are seeking an experienced Head Of Security for a client based in Northamptonshire.
This is a permanent position requiring the successful candidate to work 42.5 hours per week.
Industry : Warehouse, Logistics and Office
The working hours are 07:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
The candidate would ideally have a valid SIA Guarding Licence.
Job Description for Head of Security
We are recruiting, on behalf of our client for an experienced Security Officer in a stand-alone position working as an in-house security officer with responsibility for security across the site. The position reports into the senior management team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the client’s employees, visitors, assets and associated property. The Security Officer will be tasked with patrolling designated areas, responding to safety and security threats, manning the warehouse screening, area searching all that enter and exit the warehouse, monitoring CCTV and establishing a security presence across the site.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Security include:
· Protecting the integrity, security, and safety of the site, its employees, guests, and visitors.
· Monitoring all CCTV and access control across the site.
· Protecting the company’s assets against theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
· Investigating security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behaviour.
· Responding to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
· Completing reports and recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
· Completing site administration duties..
· Ensuring compliance with government security regulations.
· Delivering the highest levels of customer service, consistently demonstrating integrity and professionalism
· Maintaining a visual deterrent for any potential loss or damage/theft of client property.
· Following any specific management instruction given for the site’s security (e.g Locking of gates, Alarming zones).
· Patrolling the site at regular intervals, inside and out
· Monitoring and checking the CCTV and Access Control systems.
· Remaining vigilant against damage to the business property or staff.
· Following company procedure & protocol for dealing with incidents.
· Strict adherence to Health & Safety policies (and other applicable policies)
· Dealing with any incidents appropriately and if necessary escalating to Management or authorities.
· To be proactive in security improvements across the site
· To use the screening equipment for searching of all personnel entering and exiting the warehouse
· To maintain a current Assignment Instruction list for security compliance
· Regular security meetings/reviews with senior management
· To comply with company instructions from senior management or their representative
Essential Skills:
· Fully comprehensive 5-year work/unemployment/education history screen able to BS7858.
· Must have demonstrable experience working in a similar role in a warehouse environment.
· Have a high level of self-presentation.
· Be punctual, reliable and confident.
· High levels of written and verbal communication skills.
· Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong customer focus.
· 3 years security experience within warehousing and logistics
· Self motivated and disciplined
· Flexible approach to hours as may be required for additional working as the business demands
· Smart appearance
· Able to patrol internal and external areas of the site
· Observation skills
· Ability to make improvement suggestions meeting cost restraints to reduce site risk
· The ability to work proactively and use intuition.
· Have a keen attention to detail.
· Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
· Adaptable and responsive.
· Ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
· Ability work on your own initiative with minimal supervision
· Microsoft Office basic understanding ideal
