Head of Software and Technology -

Fast-growing online retailer are looking for a Head of Software and Technology to assist in bringing their next phase of growth to life, pioneering new technologies in a new market.

In this key role, you will be instrumental in the analysis, design, management, and implementation of existing and new software systems.
The software development functions have been outsourced to partners and now the strategic control of Tech and Software Development needs to be managed internally.

Working as a pivotal part of the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the business’ software development & Technology needs, whilst collaborating closely with the current partners, who have developed, and continue to support current systems.
Offering significant opportunities for the right person, the new Head of Technology must be a ‘doer’, diligent, energetic, and dynamic.

You will have:

• Effective software delivery management - can challenge and understand what Developers are doing.
• Team leadership / Management experience
• Significant experience working on complex projects.
• Understanding business change requirements + providing Business Analysis across a range of Software development projects.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff
• The ability and experience of working with key strategic external partners.
• A natural commercial flair

The Role

• Review all the existing systems in conjunction with future requirements and make recommendations to the management team over the options moving forward.
• Work with current development partner to enhance partnership working and bring efficiencies into current systems.
• Work closely with the Operations, Marketing, Financial and Commercial teams to make effective use of resources to achieve commercial goals set by the business.
• Develop and mature the systems supporting the various group of brands, building scalable and responsive solutions.
• Ensure that security, data protection and compliance requirements are fit for purpose and delivered.
