A long established £250m manufacturer is recentralising Procurement following a historic disbursement of the business process within their group. This means that there is an opportunity for an experience procurement professional to rebuild a new procurement operation in an organisation that already has first class facilities, a high-profile global customer portfolio, and an executive board with a real appetite for development and progress.
Responsibilities will be:
Create & manage a team of Commodity Managers/Supplier Development Managers.
Coordinates all volume purchase agreement negotiations in primary areas of responsibility.
Coordinates the development & execution of volume purchase agreements.
Ensure group & supplier contract adherence (with support from central commercial/legal team).
Negotiates component & product pricing to achieve cost saving targets.
Develop further network of suppliers with large focus in Asia.
Coordinates negotiation strategies and maintains contact with key supplier personnel at all times.
Maintain current knowledge of market trends, market conditions & recommends changes in supply chain strategies & tactics based on such knowledge.
Manages the Supply Chain through any NPI process in conjunction with Programme Management team.
Requirements:
This position requires someone who has a Sourcing/Purchasing history, a strategic thinker that can influence and implement change in a dynamic environment.
Capable user of Microsoft software including Teams, Sharepoint, Excel, Powerpoint and Project
An understanding of computerised MRP systems preferred.
Experience of working within a highly regulated engineering environment.
