Head of Sport & Physical Activity (Job Share - 3 days per week)

National organisation is looking for an individual to lead a team in the development, enhancement & delivery of Sports& Physical Activity provision across the UK.

The primary aspects of the role are:

Sport & Physical Activity Improvement Plan (SIP)

Event Development

Volunteers

Local Activity

Workplace Associations/Civil Service Departments

Health & Fitness Centres (HFCs)

External Partnerships

Knowledge and Network Development

Sports & Leisure Committee

Senior Leadership Team

This is a job share role for 3 days per week.

The job share partners must be able to demonstrate the skills and experience required to deliver all the role requirements, but to work together to exploit each others strengths to maximise success.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years relevant sports development and event management experience either in the workplace or through a relevant degree or qualification.
• Proven experience of building key strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and volunteers and external sports bodies and organisations such as NGBs.
• Strong line management experience; overseeing the development and performance of employees as well as supervising the team's day to day operations.
• Experience in change management; implementing a change transformation programme across an organisation with proven effective results.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Sports event management.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills; the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Demonstratable project management experience.
• Excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Progressive understanding of the latest approaches, best practice and key trends within the sports, leisure and health & wellbeing industry.
