This Irish Utility company is looking for a Head of Stakeholder and Strategic Technical Communications to join their growing team. The successful candidate will have full accountability for designing effective communications strategies and plans. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for all Strategic Stakeholder Communications including Public Affairs, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that key messages, activities and strategic objectives are being communicated externally to achieve clearly defined business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee implementation of Stakeholder, Public Affairs and Communications Strategies and plans.
• Manage stakeholder partnerships and develop critical relationships to ensure strategies and objectives are clearly understood, communicated and prioritised.

• Provide strategic advice and support to the internal business to ensure the ongoing coordinated approach to stakeholder management and engagement.
• Implement a digital solution for stakeholder management and engagement.
• Ensure clear metrics and measures are in place to track all stakeholder, public affairs, corporate and Strategic Technical Communications.
• Update relevant government and EU policy, regulations and legislation, providing expert advice to key business stakeholders and projects.
• Accountable for providing a central strategic stakeholder coordination capability for interactions with the Government, ensuring consistent messaging from all parts of the organisation.
• Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across Corporate Affairs and the wider business.
• Lead, coach and develop your team to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives.

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in integrated communications, working across stakeholder, public affairs, corporate, strategic and Technical Communications to build reputation.
• Experience in creating and leading the implementation of Communications strategy with excellent clear and concise writing skills for a range of audiences and in a variety of formats.
• A minimum of 10 plus years experience in utilities or large regulated multi stakeholder industry. 5+ years working at a senior manager level.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrable ability to attract and develop a high performing committed team.
• Significant leadership, change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment.
• Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
• Can quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships and influence effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
• A proven track record of working in a commercially focused environment and working collaboratively across multiple functions and business areas.
• Experience of implementing policies, systems and controls and overseeing the implementation of progressive policies.
