Location: Waterside Campus Job Description.pdf (PDF, 143.28kb) About the job Interview date: to be confirmed The Faculty of Health, Education and Society at the University of Northampton is looking to appoint an experienced and inspirational academic to become Head of Subject for Health Professions. The subject area includes Podiatry, Paramedic Science and Midwifery, amongst others. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty Executive Leadership Team leading the subject area with responsibilities for: the academic portfolio, a delegated budget, student recruitment and experience, staff development and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies. We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. About you You will be educated to at least Master’s degree level in an area relevant to the subject and also hold a registration with either The Nursing and Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will also have a broad experience in the leadership and management of teams with the ability to shape the academic portfolio whilst working with others to enhance the staff and student experience. You will also have experience of working with delegated budgets and line management.  Excellent communication skills are essential as to is the ability to work under pressure, prioritising when required to meet deadlines. Qualifications Essential; Level 7 qualification or equivalent professional experience related to Subject Area Registered with the HCPC or NMC Desirable; A Doctoral qualification related to the Subject Area Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D3) and teaching qualification recognised by HESA Right To Work All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview.
