Head Pig Stockperson

We are recruiting a Head Pig Stockperson for a farm in Hampshire (RG29).

Our client has a farm shop selling their own beef, pork and lamb. They are looking to employ a Head Pig Stockperson to manage a 100-sow unit producing pork pigs for their shop.  

Their sows are served indoors on a 3-week batch system. They are farrowed outside and weaned at four weeks. The piglets are weaned into Challow arks until 30kg when they are taken inside to finish.

Person specifications:

• All aspects of pug husbandry
• AI 
• Selecting fat pigs weekly
• Loader tractor with feeder trailer work
• LCB loader work
• Scraper tractor work

Salary: Flat rate of £13 per hour + 3-bedroom house + 28 days holiday

Candidates are expected to work every other weekend.
