Job description

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Head RVN to join our East Oxford practice which is run by Lead Vet Mitko and his team. The practice has great equipment including endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment and complex ultrasound. The practice is supported by Woodstock 24 Hour and use our ambulance to support patient transfer to and from the hospital.

The practice is located on the Cowley Road, central of the city of Oxford, offering easy access to local amenities and retail. The practice offers staff rest facilities and private parking.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Complete administrative tasks such as health and safety, practice standards, health care plan, debt collection, insurance and finances.
  • Provide first class clinical care through consultations, procedures and monitoring.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Provide exceptional client care giving clear updates on patients, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Observe the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt.
  • Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills.
  • Hold engaging clinical meetings with veterinary and nursing teams.
  • Support and carry out colleague clinical mentoring / development.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across clinics and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered.
  • Small animal practice experience.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • A client-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working to the highest medical standards.
  • Experience of working with a team to develop a practice.
  • Experience of building trusting relationships with colleagues, and working effectively as part of a team.
  • A great communicator, you will be an outstanding and positive example to others.
  • Clinical coaching experience, or at least enthusiasm to become a Clinical Coach.
  • A friendly and positive attitude and want to progress and expand your knowledge and skills further.
