L'Ortolan is a luxury meeting and corporate hospitality venue located in Shinfield, Reading. The private rooms at L’Ortolan offer an alternative space for those wanting to hold corporate meetings followed by a dinner, if you are rewarding a colleague, or celebrating a company achievement. We have three stunning private rooms, which can hold between 8 and 22 guests. For larger parties the restaurant can be hired for exclusive use for up to 55 guests.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Head Waiter (Waitress). The Head Waiter (Waitress) will be responsible for supervising the waitstaff, ensuring that all customers receive excellent service, managing reservations, and ensuring that all tables are properly set up. The Head Waiter will also be responsible for training new employees, handling customer complaints, and assisting with inventory management.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food and beverage, and food service.
• Experience in cooking is a plus.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Previous experience as a Head Waiter or in a supervisory role is preferred.
• Wine knowledge, and experience with inventory management is a plus.
