Chawton C of E School is situated in the picturesque village of Chawton, famous for being the home of renowned author Jane Austen. The school sits on the edge of South Downs National Park, near to Chawton House with its beautiful park and surrounding countryside. Chawton has excellent road access to Winchester and Guilford via the A31 and is adjacent to the town of Alton with its good links to London by train.
Chawton is a popular small village school, which has achieved ‘Good’ in its recent SIAMS inspection - ‘at the heart of the vision is the drive to enable the pupils to fulfil their potential’. Our core values of Love, Courage and Fellowship are the pulse of the school and are woven and firmly embedded into every aspect of our school life, curriculum priorities and learning.
We are looking for an innovative, energetic Headteacher who has ambitious, inclusive educational standards that will build on the progress the school has made in terms of culture and curriculum over the past few years. Thus giving an opportunity to develop their own leadership style within the school to coach, encourage and support the professional development of our staff to ensure our children flourish and thrive in preparation for their next phase of education and life.
