Sutton Courtenay CE Primary School is a vibrant, outward-facing one-form entry school located between Abingdon and Didcot. The school is at the heart of the community, welcoming children from all faiths and of none, and values strong links with the parish church of All Saints.
We are looking for an exceptional Headteacher to join us from September 2024 who will lead a talented and committed team of staff, engaged and enthusiastic children, and supportive parents through an ongoing journey of school improvement.
Ridgeway Education Trust is at an exciting time in its development. Two Primary Schools are due to join us in the Spring, taking us to a Trust of seven schools educating circa 4,000 children and young people. A mixture of Church of England and non-faith schools, two secondaries and five Primary Schools, we embrace our diversity whilst recognising the strength of our close geographical proximity.
Supported by RET, Sutton Courtenay is on an ongoing journey of improvement. Our curriculum is ambitious and well considered and outcomes at KS2 are in line or above national year-on-year. Our focus is on high quality CPD for all staff and ensuring that the implementation of the curriculum in the classroom is effective for all children, especially those with SEND and those who are disadvantaged. We are proud of our school and the children, staff and families who make it so special.
If you would like to find out more about this vacancy, or arrange to see Sutton Courtenay for yourself, please contact Paul Shaughnessy, Director of Primary Education ([email protected]) for an initial discussion. Applications from candidates interested in flexible models of school leadership – such as co-headship - are welcomed.
