Are you a NEBOSH level 3 qualified Health and Safety practitioner? Are you looking for a varied role within a theatre environment? Do you promote and inspire a positive health and safety culture?
In this crucial role, you will provide competent advice to all employees and support the Head of OSH in day-to-day health and safety matters, ensuring legal compliance and a positive and proactive approach to health and safety across the RSC.
It is an exciting time to join the RSC as we prepare to deliver our summer programme ; the Health and Safety Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting on productions and at events and you will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Advising all staff on health and safety matters, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, adherence to safety and health policies and procedures and legal compliance. Carrying out incident investigations and writing reports. Carrying out workplace inspections and producing reports and recommendations for actions. Delivering or facilitating health and safety training courses, including health and safety inductions, both virtually and in-person. Maintaining first aid rooms and first aid stock. Building relationships, internally and with external networks. The right person for this role will:
Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent level 3 qualification. Be a member of IOSH or equivalent. Hold a Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent. Enjoy working independently and as part of a team. Be organised, managing, and prioritising your workload effectively. This position is offered as a part-time, 6-month fixed term contract and is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with occasional remote working. The working hours are 28 hours per week; however, we are flexible with this and would consider reducing the hours. The working days and times are also flexible dependent on the needs of the candidate. This role may include occasional travel to London.
