Purpose
Leading the delivery of Health and Safety for Ofgem. The Manager in this role will develop and maintain safety practices for staff and workplaces for all staff across all work locations including the home whilst keeping abreast of changes to Health and Safety legislation and building safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· As the H&S subject matter expert, the role will be to promote and support the development and implementation of a positive Health & Safety culture across all Ofgem offices, its employees and those that visitor our offices.
· To serve as a focal point for all H&S matters on behalf of People and Estates, including regular liaison with key stakeholders to ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, and that the appropriate resources are available across the business.
· Owner off and responsible for review, oversight and approval of all Health and Safety assessments, audits and inspections and to monitor compliance.
· Manage the changing needs arising out of Health & Safety legislation, technical compliance, and industry best practice.
· Responsible for delivering all H&S Training in Ofgem and ensuring compliance with mandatory training where required.
· Contribute to the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Planning where required.
· Undertake Reportable incident investigations as directed.
· Provide support in ensuring the obligations of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Regulatory Reform, (Fire Safety Order), 2005 and other relevant Acts, Laws, Regulations and good industry practices are fully adhered to.
· Communications with colleagues and stakeholders on all H&S matters.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
· Ensuring the H&S Policy is communicated and complied with by all staff and service contractors
· Ensuring that each Ofgem Estates manager provides timely reports and updates for a central colation and onward reporting by the H&S Manager to the Esates Lead, HR and ARAK as required
· Keeping the H&S Policy, Local Arrangements and all other H&S related documention current and in accordance with legislation
· Lieason with external building managers to ensure complinace
· H&S Training
· The provision of spacalist equipment as required
· Manging and reporting H&S through appropriate means
