The Role
A Health and Safety Officer will work directly with the adi Automotive / Group Service Directors, supporting them in the H&S and legislative compliance of the business. Keep abreast of latest HSE guidance, help to drive and develop the H&S plan for the business. Liaise with Clients and any relevant external bodies in the event of incidents. Provide in-house training and carry out safety inspections. Responsible for maintaining and developing the SSOW for the regular business activities and managing the necessary control measures for the risks associated with the business's day to day operations.
Specifically, you will:
* To help create and deliver the Health and Safety plan for the business; working within Group guidelines and in co-ordination with the Managing Director you will help create and deliver the H&S continuous improvement plan for the Company. Create and support the delivery of key focus areas for each division.
* To support the engineering teams in accident investigations and offer advice and guidance on control measures
* Adherence to company and legislative Health and Safety requirements and to set and drive a culture of safe working practice throughout the business, obtain and keep up to date with latest relevant H&S legislation changes and ensure we are ahead of any HSE focus areas.
* To support and develop a greater H&S awareness and culture within the business, ensuring our sites and workshops are maintaining H&S at the forefront of our activities.
* Help to support and create a behavioral culture around H&S with both site and workshop teams
* To manage and facilitate our training requirements and validations; supporting and co-ordination of or delivering any additional training required by the teams
* To carry out monthly workshop inspections and help to manage any remedial requirements.
* Work closely with the QHSE administrator to ensure records are kept and maintained for building logs and personnel training.
About You
To join us as a Health and Safety Officer, you will need:
* Completion of a recognised qualification or time served trade apprenticeship.
* Experience in a similar role within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
* Good understanding of best practice in respect of H&S management.
* Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Experience of building strong relationships both internal and external stakeholders
* Experience of customer and stakeholder Management
