HMP Addiewell are currently recruiting for a Health and Wellbeing Instructor. As a Health and Wellbeing Instructor you will inspire positive change, promote mental and physical wellness, and make a lasting impact on lives. Apply now and help imprisoned individuals embark on a journey of self-care and personal growth.Key responsibilities: Play a leading role in forging links and relationship with internal and external services; including physical health services (NHS Lothian), Lifestyle services (stop smoking, weight management, PTI’s to deliver exercise on referral, leisure centres referrals on liberation).Forge relationships with mental health services liaising with both in house and external NHS and appropriate agencies or charities.To create positive opportunities for those residents attending purposeful activity and promote the benefits of achievement in education.To liaise with prison staff and actively recruit new resident students with a particular set of interests attributed to your classroom subjects.To provide residents with a structured programme of tuition for class periods and self-study, ensuring that progress information is incorporated into resident records. To prepare residents for exams or assessments where appropriate and encourage demonstrable learning outcomes. Skills/Experience Required: Hold the applicable assessor’s award or achieve the assessor’s award within eighteen months of undertaking the role.SCQF Level 7 in a teaching discipline (or equivalent) or achieve this within eighteen months of undertaking the role.Knowledge and experience in Health and Wellbeing subjects, including physical activity, food and nutrition, mental health, wellbeing, and mindfulness. Experience of working with people with ranging abilities and ages who may require additional support.Demonstrable experience of the SQA framework or of an Industry or Educational Standard.Please see attached job description for further information regarding the role requirements. Package Description:Salary – circa £27,000 -  plus excellent benefits (including free meals and parking, group discount schemes and pension with 28 days holiday).Full Time – 40 hours per week – occasional evenings and weekends Included.Place of work - HMP Addiewell, West Lothian.Sodexo takes pride in the development of its employees and the appointed candidate would have the opportunity to study towards additional qualifications.Please see attached benefits guide for all benefits available!Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
