£25,000-£27,000 per Annum pro rata to fixed term contract length

We have an exciting opportunity within Xyla Elective Care for a highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This position offers a unique opportunity for you to gain new skills within this specialist area and would include the running of a medical photography clinic, which will be held in community settings around Frimley. The main duty of the role is to take photographs of patients lesions and rashes and document on patient electronic files. Full training will be provided for the role by a team of clinical and non-clinical experts.
Xyla Elective Care (Part of Acacium Group) is excited to be partnering with Frimley ICB to deliver a new model of Dermatology care, enabling patients to be seen in their local community, avoiding the need for unnecessary hospital visits. Tele-dermatology allows photographs of patients’ lesions/rashes to be seen by consultants within 48 hours, where management plans can be advised without the need for referrals to acute sector.
Everyday you will…
- Record information and activities undertaken with patients and carers in an accurate and timely fashion using manual or computer systems as appropriate.
- To take precise and accurate photographs of lesions/skin rashes (training will be provided) Using the appropriate equipment to photograph areas of the body as required by the GP referral.
- Welcome patients and visitors to the Clinic, ensuring they are orientated and aware of clinic routines and facilities using effective communication styles and methods to convey information.
- To complete any relevant departmental / Trust audits as requested.
- To assist with the safe guidance of patients, acting as escort if appropriate

To thrive in this role, you must ideally have...
- Previous experience in either a Healthcare Assistant or Medical Photographer role or a relevant Healthcare Assistant qualification
- Adaptable communication style being clear and effective with clients, clinical workforce and colleagues showing empathy on a case by case basis
- IT skills, literacy and numeracy skills that will play a key part in your day to day workload.
- A caring and passionate personality with a willingness to help others and to undergo education/ training for personal, practice and service needs.
- A full UK Driving License and Access to a car
