Job title:Health Care Assistant Workington
We are looking for dedicated caring individuals who have a keen interest in working within the care sector in Workington and surrounding areas. The role will involve providing quality care and support to our clients within their own homes, therefore applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. Shift patterns run from full days to half days on a 24/7 basis and will require weekend working on a weekend on weekend off pattern. Both full and part time positions available.
We support a wide range of clients including both adults, older adults and children whom all have varying care needs. Including, dementia, autism, learning difficulties, mental health, psychical disabilities, challenging behaviour and many more. Staff will be expected to work both alone and on double up calls with other carers so being a good team player is a must! Our packages will be covering west Cumbria as a whole, you will be expected to travel between towns during your shift and mileage will be paid to accommodate this.

We are looking for hardworking individuals who show initiative towards providing quality care to others. Good communication and time keeping skills are a must. You must also be able to adapt to new challenges well and be an excellent team player. Previous experience in care work or supporting roles is desirable but not always necessary, please do not hesitate to apply even if you do not have care experience as training will be given to every new member of staff before going out to provide care.
Daily activities you will be carrying out will include but are not limited to:
- Personal care (i.e. changing incontinence pads, washing/ dressing clients)
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Medication administration/support
- Using hoists, stand aids and slide sheets to assist clients to get around their home.
- Stoma and catheter care
- Cleaning
- Taking clients shopping or to appointments
- Building strong relationships with clients and their families
