Job description

Reporting managerially to the Senior Nurse/Operational Lead for CAVHIS and clinically to the locality Lead Psychologist, the Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist works as part of the CAV Health Inclusion Service to improve the health of the most vulnerable patient groups in the Cardiff & Vale area. The Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist will predominately sit within an outreach capacity but having the flexibility to work within all areas of CAVHIS is imperative.
The Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist will create a caseload of service users who would benefit from trauma focused therapy and deliver this via appropriate methods, including delivering therapy via interpreter services, to people experiencing acute and chronic trauma related complexities. The Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist will be a specialist in the provision of High Intensity psychological therapies for service users in accordance with the guidance published inMatrics Cymru(2017). The Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist will be involved promoting multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working and accept referrals in accordance with service criteria.
The Health Inclusion High Intensity Therapist will be a key figure, alongside the clinical director and senior nurse, in developing a CAVHIS psychological therapies hub, referral process and service criteria based on observed evidence of service user need.
Will provide High Intensity, specialist evidence-based psychological trauma therapy interventions and support delivery of a pathway of condition specific care as designated inMatrics Cymru.
Will provide specialist interventions to service users who have experienced significant trauma as part of a care and treatment plan. These service users may or may not have co morbid mental health difficulties, addiction complexities or have English as their first language.
Will contribute to a specialist pathway of care by working collaboratively with fellow CAVHIS professionals, peer support workers and the wider team in the development and implementation of specialist psychological therapy for the service in the context of complex trauma care.
Will function autonomously and independently on a day-to-day basis and will provide specialist services that involve forming judgements, analysis, interpretation, and comparison of a range of complex clinical information.
Will be expected to advise on, contribute to, and implement policies and service development and participate in research and audit projects.
Will be BABCP accredited (*or meet BABCP accreditation standards who will apply for accreditation on commencement of post) and have extensive experience of delivering trauma-based interventions.
Will have experience of working with high-risk and high need individuals and people with co morbid mental health and/or addiction complexities.
