Wehave an exciting opportunity to work for our organisation inpartnership with Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) providing ahigh quality service as a Health Independent Domestic ViolenceAdvocate Team (HIDVA) to support those who experience Domestic Abuse(DA). Providing targeted independent DA advocacy and support forpeople who are patients or staff of MKUH, your role will be toempower your clients, keeping the safety of them and their childrencentral to your interventions. We are looking for an individual whois committed to working in a multi-agency setting, which is fastpaced. You will be joining our caring, strong and hardworking team.

HealthIndependent Domestic Violence Advocate (HIDVA)

35Hours perweek, from £23,787pro rata for those that hold IDVA/DAPA qualification and for thosethat do not hold qualification. From £22,787

Ifyou do not hold a qualification you will undertake your IDVA trainingon successful completion of 6 month probationary period and onqualification move to the higher rate.

Contract:Fixed term 1year

WorkPattern:Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (with some flexibility).

Basedat MKUH the majority of the time with one day a week at MK-Act Officein Central Milton Keynes.

Asan HIDVA we require you to provide intensive, one-to-one work withvictims of Domestic Violence prioritising those who are at medium tohigh risk of harm, working intensively with these cases for a limitedtime until the risk is reduced and safety needs have been met.

Youwill have a solid understanding of Domestic Violence and its effectson victims. You will have experience of working in a multi-agencysetting in particular a health setting and undertaking face-to-facework with clients. It is desirable but not essential that you holdeither IDVA/DAPA qualification. The ability to speak a foreignlanguage, together with a strong understanding of the needs ofminoritised communities is also desirable but not essential
