An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy and supportive Outpatient Reception team based at Royal Gwent Hospital but also expected to work at other Health Board Hospital sites as required.
We are looking for individuals who have:
• Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Good IT skills and a keen eye for detail
• The ability to multitask whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines
• Experience of staff management
• Flexibility in working practices
• The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• The ability to work at other locations
• The ability to motivate and lead a team
The Reception team play a vital role in patient care and has a commitment to deliver, high quality care in the right place, at the right time.
You will be well supported by the Health Records management team and will receive full training in all aspects of this fast-paced role. We can also offer many training and development opportunities to further progress your career within the service.

• Lead and work collaboratively with the Reception team and contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and effective service across the board
• Encourage wider team working across the departments and hospital sites
• Involvement and awareness of emerging technologies
• Managing the workload for the team, providing a high-quality reception service for hospital admissions/ outpatient appointments and the preparation of patient notes
• Encourage and introduce new ways of working, whilst maintaining operational service delivery
• Providing support and leadership to the teams, including sickness management and performance monitoring
• Delivering an effective and efficient service, providing cover when necessary for other supervisors across the service

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
The ability to speak Welsh is Essential for this role, or willingness to undertake training as required by the post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
