Our client is a leading industry association based in London, dedicated to promoting responsible practices and ensuring the well-being of our members and the environment. They are currently seeking a skilled professional to join our team in the position of Health and Safety Technical Specialist.
As a Health and Safety Technical Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health, safety, and Environmental regulations. Your expertise in occupational health and safety management, process safety management, and Environmental management will be essential in driving best practices within the industry.
In addition to your technical skills, they value strong communication abilities. You will have the opportunity to engage with their member companies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and promoting collaboration. Your proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 and conducting research via various sources will enable you to effectively communicate and deliver reports on your activities.
At our client's Health and Safety Division, they believe in teamwork and collaboration. You will work closely with our dedicated team to support and promote opportunities for collaboration with member companies. By establishing multiple touchpoints and maintaining regular communication, you will strengthen relationships and ensure that member needs are met.
Your role will also involve supporting the management and delivery of the UK/client Responsible Care vision, emphasizing responsible practices and sustainability. By engaging with member companies, facilitating networks, and promoting Responsible Care initiatives, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
To thrive in this role, you should be familiar with health, safety, and Environmental laws, as well as relevant national and international standards. Your knowledge and experience in resource efficiency, chemicals management, workforce and stakeholder engagement, and security in manufacturing and distribution will be invaluable.
- Educated to degree level
- Health and Safety and Environmental law experience within the chemical sector (ideally). Other sectors considered
- Ability to research and review large data
- Strong communication and evidence of such in a previous position. Examples of report writing etc.
