Health & Safety Consultant - 4 Month Ftc

Affinity Water is the UK's largest water-only supplier. We're committed to delivering a high-quality water service to 3.89 million customers and our Health and Safety team is at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for a diligent Health and Safety Consultant to join us on a 4 month FTC to support the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team in the continued development of the safety management system, to ensure continued compliance to help Affinity Water achieve our ambition of Zero Harm.

The key output of the role is to produce a number of health and safety procedures and guidance notes to improve our safety management system. Collaboration with teams across the business is essential to the successful delivery of this key output.

Principal accountabilities

• Develop and deliver specified health, safety and wellbeing policies, procedures and guidance notes.
• Help identify and assess business health and safety risks to assist maintain compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice.
• Support Health and Safety change initiatives, influencing others and driving improvement.
• Consider health and safety training requirements in the review of processes and procedures
• Proactively work with operational teams to ensure that health and safety is considered at all stages, and that relevant control measures are identified.
• Support in the identification and development of risk assessments relating to health and safety as required.

Personal skills and key competencies

• Experience of documenting health and safety procedures, guidance notes, safe systems of work, risk assessments 
• Experience of risk management, site inspections and audits
• Indepth knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and its application in the workplace. 
• Ability to write practical and succinct procedures and processes 
• Ideally possess NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and be a certified member of the Institute of Safety and Health
