Job Description:
Joining our client, a leading Aviation Specialist, you will report to the Health, Safety, Environmental & Laboratory Supervisor. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in fostering a culture of health and safety excellence within the organization.
As an integral part of our in-house team, your responsibilities will encompass crafting and implementing HS&E strategies, policy development, risk assessments, liaising with regulatory bodies for compliance, investigating on-site incidents, generating detailed reports with recommendations, and conducting site inspections to ensure policy adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Health, Safety, Environmental & Laboratory Supervisor to devise HS&E solutions aligning with business needs and HS&E legislation and regulations.
Monitor the status of site HS&E policies and work procedures, facilitating smooth transitions and consistent compliance through effective communication with employees and business units.
Champion the HS&E culture within the organization, including conducting risk assessments and general planned inspections. Support the leadership team in fostering safe work systems.
Contribute to HS&E campaigns, targeting identified risks, identifying necessary training requirements, and efficiently handling inquiries from internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and customers.
Aid business teams in gathering and analysing incident-related data, producing KPIs, reports, identifying trends, and recommending actionable steps.
Investigate and conduct root cause analysis of HS&E incidents, implementing measures to prevent recurrence, and maintaining documentation of investigations and actions taken.
Arrange HS&E testing, evaluations, and audits by external agencies when necessary. Utilize audit feedback to develop action plans in collaboration with Facilities & Maintenance to address findings and ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the HR department as a team to provide appropriate HS&E training for personnel based on their roles, covering topics such as First Aid, Confined Space Work, Face Fit Testing, and more.
Assist management and employees in addressing HS&E matters, including coordinating and developing the roles of the Company Health and Safety Committee and the First Aid/Fire Warden Teams. This includes chairing meetings and compiling meeting minutes while ensuring the completion of action items.
Work as part of a team to aid in the implementation and sustainability of HSE Standards within the organization as per defined timelines.
Undertake any additional HS&E-related activities, assignments, or projects assigned by the Management Team.
Candidate Skills & Requirements:
Desirable NEBOSH General Certificate qualification (but not essential).
Preferred HSE experience.
Working knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Management Systems.
Familiarity with current HS&E legislation.
Proficiency in risk assessment procedures.
Strong cross-functional communication skills.
Adaptability and openness to improvements and change.
Beneficial experience in working within a lower-tier COMAH facility.
