The Company
A Yorkshire based company are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Environment Manager on a permanent basis. Established over 100 years, they are a leading manufacturer in the specific sector.
The Role
As a Health & Safety Environment Manager, you will be joining the Senior Management Team, the based-on site at Sowerby Bridge. You will support employees across the site in promoting a positive culture through strong leadership and high levels of engagement and best practices.
* Conduct regular health and safety inspection/audits and prepare detailed H&S audit reports
* Use continuous improvement techniques to improve and sustain the health, safety & environmental performance and management system
* Ensure incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and corrective action is undertaken
* Ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace by conducting regular audits and inspections to make sure the highest standards are consistently maintained
* Lead training with new and existing members of staff whilst identifying and assisting in any staff development opportunities
* Assist and support in the creation, implementation and review of Risk Assessments, safe working procedures and method statements
* Coordinate and promote all H&S Training
* Delivery of the company Health and Safety strategy and initiates for the site
* Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms
* Review all existing company Health & Safety documentation and update accordingly in line with our statutory obligations including CDM Regulations
* Ensure that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals
* Review of all RAMS and COSHH assessments and update where necessary
* Assist Pre-Construction Team with Health & Safety Questionnaires
About You
As a Health & Safety Environment Manager, you will be highly motivated and be able to work in a busy, pressured environment and ideally have previous manufacturing experience.
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred
* years'+ experience in safety management field, ideally in a continuous production environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to prepare operation manuals and have strong decision making and planning skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Computer literate in Microsoft office
The Opportunity
