Health & Safety Manager£50,000 per annum plus benefitsCaerphillyI am excited to bring to market this unique opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager working with a renowned Manufacturing business based in Caerphilly. You will report into Group Health & Safety ensuring the site management system aligns with the overall business Health & Safety strategy.This role reports directly into the Site Director where you will be responsible for the development and implementation of Health and Safety ensuring advice and support is available for all Business Managers for them to fulfil their own responsibilities.Duties and responsibilitiesOngoing development and implementation of improved site Health and Safety practices, policies, and procedures.Develop and budget with the Site Manager effective Training policies for implementation on the site.Facilitate, support, and advise the Site Risk Management teams.Chair the Site Safety meetings to update all Business Managers on developments at site level.Ensure all employees are fully safety trained and competent for the role.Assist Business Managers to undertake Risk Assessments for all operations on site.Review Risk Assessments on a regular basis.Implement Internal Audit processes at site level and measure performance and action planning.Undertake regular unscheduled Safety audits on the site to ensure compliance with Group policy.Enforce policy by identifying breaches and reporting to the Site Manager and the Group Health and Safety Manager.Liaise with HSA and other outside agencies in relation to H&S matters including reporting, auditing, and ensuring recommendations and guidelines are fully complied with.Skills, qualifications, and experience required.NEBOSH General certificateH&S Diploma advantageousH&S Degree advantageousH&S Professional membership essential.Background in health and safety ideally food and / or manufacturing environments.3+ years post qualification experience ideally within a manufacturing environment.Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills.Organised, energetic and self-motivated.Experience in a Training environment would be beneficial
