Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Bristol requiring an ASAP start.
Main Duties- Assist the Health and Safety Manager to maintain, as far as is reasonably practicable safe and healthy working environment in accordance with the College's Health and Safety Policy, Statutory requirements and Approved Codes of Practice.
- Attend Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee meetings and Management meetings as
- Proactively assist with the provision of a hands-on service on health and safety matters to all offering advice and information to all staff,
- Keep up to date with health and safety legislation by attending relevant seminars, workshops and cascade information back to the Health and Safety Manager,
- Maintain and develop your professional competence/CPD as appropriate for your level of qualification and experience as agreed with the Health and Safety
- Ensure personal conduct complies with the requirements of the financial regulations and strive to ensure that the college receives best value in all
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young persons and other vulnerable people for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with.
- Be responsible for own safety and not endanger that of colleagues/visitors to the
- Reflect critically on own professional practice and discuss annually, at performance review, how performance can be improved and where appropriate agree what actions can be taken for further
- Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the general level of responsibility, at the normal place of work or at any another College
- Health & Safety/Facilities experience
- IOSH or NEBOSH
- License and own vehicle
- Able to pass a DBS check
- Good organisation, planning, multitasking and time management skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
