About the Role
Tile House Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join the practice, working alongside the nursing team for 30-37.5 hours per week.
Supported by the nursing team within the practice, the HCA will deliver care within the boundaries of their role and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing HCA guidance as required.
- wound care and administering of medicines and vaccines;
- NHS health checks;
- re-stocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines;
- clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms;
- preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations;
- providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.
About the Candidate
- Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC;
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent;
- Strong clinical skills;
- Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post;
- Experience within primary care or another healthcare setting;
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills;
- Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
- Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
