Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata)
This is an opportunity for Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) to join us at the Gilbert Bain Hospital. HCSWs play a vital role in supporting patients, working as part of a team providing direct care to patients. There is a need specifically for HCSWs who have previous experience within General Surgical and Medical ward environments and outpatients. A full induction programme will be arranged within the departments. There is an expectation that you will work at least 1 shifts every fortnight to maintain your generic skills with the Gilbert Bain hospital, this is contracted on a bank basis and therefore no hours are guaranteed. At the present time we have a variety of vacancies and therefore a large number of hours to offer on the bank.
If you are enthusiastic with a keen interest in a profession in healthcare, good interpersonal skills and the ability to perform personal care for patients we would like to hear from you. There are also many opportunities for learning and development in the HCSW role that can lead to career progression.
You will be expected to comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencing your role – details can be viewed on http://www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk/resources/hcsw-standards-and-codes/
