Torbay Hospital Outpatients department in John Parkes Unit is staffed by a team of experienced, dedicated staff whose aim is to ensure all service users experience is the best it can be. Supporting patients from greeting to leaving, and assisting clinicians to provide appropriate care, information and follow-up.
As a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assist the registered nurses and senior clinical staff in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care. Our staff are committed to providing high standards of individualised care for the people who use our services, whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times.
- Preparing environment, equipment and notes, and supporting service users and clinicians to ensure effective care delivery.
- Patient observations and assessments, with accurate documentation
- Communicating with patients, carers, colleagues, other departments.
- To provide a high-quality, person-centred service which complies with relevant legislation and standards
- Actively listen, showing empathy when needed
- Help to develop and foster a learning environment where feedback is welcomed and valued
- Being prepared to learn new skills such as assisting during minor surgery on regular basis (full training will be provided)
