We're currently looking for a Hearings Officer on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the Hearings team in the Professional Conduct department, based in our office at the Adelphi in London.


The job

Reporting to the Hearings Team Lead, on a day to day basis, you'll be involved in the following:

  • The facilitation of ACCA Disciplinary Hearing events
  • Providing necessary documents to all parties before, during and after the Hearing event in keeping with KPIs and ensuring that all parties are kept informed throughout the hearing process
  • Liaising with internal teams within the Professional Conduct Department to ensure that all necessary information and documentation pertaining to Hearings is available to all parties when required
  • Updating necessary databases as part of ACCA's Regulatory obligations
  • Dealing with the requirements of a live Hearing event and the ability to deal with emergent events, coping with technical issues and the particular needs of the individuals attending
    ACCA Hearings are public, so you will be responsible for ensuring that publicity is notified at the appropriate time prior to and after Hearing events
  • Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained and that GDPR requirements are complied with at all times

The person

We're looking for someone who:

  • Ideally has experience in a similar role
  • Has the ability to work under pressure to tight and fixed deadlines and under their own initiative in order to meet their KPI's, in turn contributing to Departmental KPI's
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Is flexible. As a global organisation, some ACCA Hearings have an early morning start to accommodate time differences
  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to deal with administrative tasks quickly, efficiently and accurately
  • Can take responsibility for their own workload
  • Has experience of using databases and Case Management systems, can update these timeously and has good attention to detail
  • Has experience of the MS 365 suite of apps including MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and liaise with colleagues and external contacts at all levels and in an efficient and professional manner
