Hgv Driver

We are currently interviewing qualified HGV Drivers to assist us with work in Milton Keynes. PLEASE READ FULL JOB SCOPE BEFORE APPLYING AS THIS ROLE MAY NOT SUIT YOUR NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS.
Adhoc week day availability for experienced HGV Drivers to work c.40-60 hours per week is on offer via agency Wilson Recruitment Ltd.
In brief:
- Delivering and/or collection of large and heavy machinery such as coffee machines, food & drink machines, commercial fridges etc. these items could weigh c.150kg
- Working part of a 2 person crew, the 2nd person will be a full time and permanent member of staff who has completed all training required for the role before assisting the Driver
- Vehicle will be loaded before you start your vehicle checks, you will be introduced to your assistant also
- You will be delivering or collecting to or from Hotels, Hospitals, Schools, Coffee shops, Canteens etc
- The majority of the fleet will be 7.5t or 18t vehicles and your hourly pay rate will reflect this
- You could be travelling anywhere between London and South Yorkshire
- The average shift length is 10-12 hours depending on the route and load. Typically, you'll have 3-5 deliveries per shift
- We will provide you with the location details, the name and number of the Transport Manager and the start time before each shift. Our agency Drivers usually start at 06:00 however, it could be anytime between 05:00 and 07:00
- It is unusual for the client to have weekend work for agency Drivers, the typical week runs Monday to Friday
- You will be provided with relevant lifting tools such as a pump truck or sack barrow, your assistant will support you with lifting and/or guidance
- It is a very physical job, you could be working over 12 hours
- Agency Drivers don't tend to go to London, agency Drivers are not required to use Stair Walkers either
- Drivers must be able to contact customers where required
Applicants:
- MUST have 12 months HGV Driving experience and be over the age of 21 for insurance purposes
- WILL be a team player, personable and customer focused
- SHOULD be physically fit as the position is quite demanding, there can be a lot of heavy lifting involved
- SHALL hold an in date CPC, Tacho and Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
- CAN work long hours, possibly over 12 hours
- MIGHT have prior experience working in a similar role
- MUST be willing to lift and maneuver with the support of your assistant
I have had a few Drivers work here and although physically demanding work, they say the assistants are very helpful.
The pay rates depend on the way we payroll you and what vehicle you drive:
7.5t Mon-Fri days 12 PAYE + 13.50 PAYE ROLLED UP + 14.50 LTD
18t Mon-Fri days 14 PAYE + 15.50 PAYE ROLLED UP + 17 LTD
We can also utilise an IR35 approved umbrella company who charge c. 15 per weekly timesheet to process. The company we use is FairPay Service. The pay rate will be the same as the LTD company rate as above.
