Hgv Driver Class 2

Our client based in Witham is looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join them on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will need a CPC, tachograph and at least two years experience of driving HGV Class 2 for insurance purposes. If you have an ADR Certificate this would be a distinct advantage.

Driving

• Driving commercial vehicles for purpose of collecting and delivering freight goods
• Multi Drop/Pickup
• Some Tail lift pickup and collection
• Ensuring that all loads are checked for discrepancies (damage/shortages etc) and are safely loaded and secured on the vehicle.
• Daily maintenance checks on the vehicle you have been assigned to
• Ensuring that all records pertaining to the role (Tacho's, Time sheets, Trip sheets etc.) are kept in a timely and appropriate manner.

Warehouse Operations (if required)

• Checking freight coming in/going out of the warehouse.
• Relate any shortages/damages to the relevant department, taking photos if necessary.
• Ensure that freight is kept safe and secure whilst in your care.
• Ensure that appropriate booking procedure is adhered to and dims etc. are checked and reported back to the relevant department.
• Ensure that trucks are handled in a prompt manner.
• Ensure that whilst warehouse is in operation all people in vicinity are wearing relevant PPS such as Hi-Vis and safety footwear.
• Ensure that all freight leaving the warehouse is signed for upon collection.
• To report any issues in respectful and polite manner to the relevant department or failing that a director.

Our client is offering a competitive salary of £32,760. The core driving hours for this role will be between 6.00am - 6.00pm, working 55 hours per week. You will be required to be out up to 3 nights per week with accommodation paid for by the company.
